84 4+3 I fallowed the instructions in my Hanes manual and it's not within an inch of coming off the tranny or the diff jammed tight against the body. Do you loosen the tranny from the clutch housing? I need help here cause I'm not even close. I have removed the four bolts that hold it in place and moved it forward as far as it will go and back as far as it will go and it still lacks an inch coming off of the tranny or the diff. The driveshaft is also removed
Also there is a cable attached that can not be removed from the tranny do you take it loose from the top and pull it with the Tranny?

If you are trying to remove the cbeam yes you need to remove the bolts from the transmission, and from the differential.
I removed the four bolts that hold it to the tranny and the diff I was asking if you need to loosen the bolts that hold the tranny to the clutch housing so it could move farther to the side.
You can loosen the trans mount bolts (bottom mount, not trans to engine bolts) and use a pry bar to get the extra bit of room you need to work it out. It's a tight fit.

No.
*Remove the drive shaft (you've done that)
*Remove the 4 c-beam bolts (you've done that too)
*Use a pry bar to slide the c-beam rearward on the diff housing until it clears the tail shaft of the trans. Tilt the c-beam/diff down and slide the c-beam forward (off the diff housing) to remove.
Have you removed the shifter rods from the transmission? Yes, take the TV cable off of
the throttle body and pull it down and out. Pay attention how it routes coming out as
it will need to go back in the same path.

Thanks the Hanes instructions are opposite but I've tried both ways. When I pry it back there's a point where it jams between the body and the diff and will go no farther back and it's still an inch from coming off the trans. The linkage is all off the only thing left to take off before removing the trans are the 4 bolts that hod it to the clutch housing.

As Tom said, use a pry bar and keep prying rearward. That's how it's done.

Something seems odd here; why or how is the beam hitting the body if you're moving the beam straight rear ward? The beam has some taper to it, so as you move it rearward, it should start to bind on the diff itself as it moves rearward. You can force it further though to get the clearance you need. Shouldn't be hitting the body any where to speak of though.

As I pry it back the tapered diff pushes it sideways and gets against the tunnel wall.
I don't know how much room is on the side of the 4+3 so this probably wont work.
My car has a ZF6. When I remove the cbeam I slide it forward off the diff, and slowly move it away from the trans so it will allow move farther. For me the creates enough room to lower the trans, move the park brake cable out of the way by hand, and remove the cbeam.
I found that I couldn't get the C-bean to go far enough back to clear the trans tailshaft housing. I have loosened the bell housing bolts enough to move the trans and then the C-beam will come out. I saw a picture of a mod somebody did years ago where he cut a notch in the C-beam to clear the trans tailshaft housing.
