Default oil pan..

Has anyone put a aftermarket alum oil pan on the C4? I have a 90 engine. I got a alum oil pan thats the same depth of the stock one and it wont clear do to the oil pickup.. Do i need to get a different oil pickup? or is there some trick that i dont know??

Oil pump pick-up is always matched to the specific sump of the oil pan. You might post the brand and part number of what you bought for an oil pan so someone could "maybe" help you further.

For a '90 engine you need an oil pan for a 1 piece rear main seal, dipstick on the right side of the engine.

Early SB's use a 2 piece rear main seal the dipstick is located on the left side of the engine.

If you have the correct pan for your engine as WVZR-1 stated you will need the oil pump pick up designed for that particular pan.
