throttle issue
Check your fuel pressure while driving
Check for any codes, the acld connector under the dash connect a paperclip to the top right hand terminals and turn ignition on.
Count the number of times the check engine light flashes, you can google code numbers.
Check the tps shows 0.54 volts dc with ignition on, then check the voltage goes up to around 4 volts dc.
If that is good check the timing, retarded ignition can give similar effects. Check the Mass airflow sensor, connector good no corrosion?
is the duct to engine ok no cracks and clamps tight?
I always like to disconnect the battery (or ecm connector near the battery) resetting codes and anything the ecm has been trying to counteract. It can get itself in knots and i find the car runs better (after ten or twenty mins relearning)
The TPS and Maf sensor are most important to calculate fuel delivery.
The fuel pressure should be around 35-38 psi (the 85 uses 24lb injectors and i found my fuel pressure around 32-36 standard.
Does it have the problem when in park and reving it without driving?
could be fuel related so check the pressure and timing.
REMEMBER THE HARMONIC BALLANCER CAN SLIP do not trust it make sure you take no.1 spark plug out and make sure it is at top dead center when on the timing mark.
Good luck
