And looks like the previous owner Chopped and diced looking for the same problem. harness is unavailabcan't find a replacement anywherefind. so I'm looking for some advice. You have basically 3 options

1. part out the car

2. hunker down and start a long long thread of searching for your gremlins. there are many threads here of people looking for the gremlins and you would eventually find it but it can take a long long time depending on your schedule. not a fast fix. depends on how much u love this car in particular and if you will lose much money.

3. sell the car as is.

I have an 85 z51. so far I have not had to search for any gremlins.

I'd probably start by looking at the grounds on the car (again, find threads on here and you will find what you need).

if you go for it, document it and keep your thread updated you will get many subscribers and it will help a lot of other people out for many years to come. good luck.

I see appreciate the repIy to this post! I have concerns I will regret it if I sell this car. My Dad past on 5 yes ago. this is my inheritance. so little complicated. I have had motor gone through. I have put 12k in car! Still in very bad shape. I'm not even sure I can complete the car because of lack of parts. I have considered selling the car. unfortunately I don't think I can do it. I just hope this is going to be worth the struggle

i mean no disrespect when i say this, however i am compelled to advise you that 12k into a 85 vette that still has wiring problems that mechanics wont touch...is likely worth less than what you have into it. (unless u have some serious engine upgrades in there).

Anyway, as i said....i mean no disrespect as I understand its form your late father so I understand things are different in that case however you may want to check into what these cars are worth with your given specs in your area before investing further into it.

Where are you located? Someone here in the CF in FL just bought an '85 for a parts car and I've certainly no idea of what you need or what was missing or the condition of his harnesses but he's a pretty good guy and maybe can help.

here is a thread that he started some time ago. Contact him and see what he may have that can help you:

Thank you very much for the link. there was no disrespect taken here
want some background of my crazy adventure. I do understand I have more in the car then the car worth. I'm going to consider selling the car but first I'm going to leave my options open for a while. I sure will use the link. Thanks

Have you issues just with mass harness of battery?

Don't you find standard wire in eletrical shop?take it, some terminals, crimper, self amalgamating tape, heat shrink tubing, solder and work will best done.

I've placed an eletric system on my dodge nitro when installed train horns and compressor

Or is the issue bigger?i'm not sure to have better understood

Don't know if this will work out or not but try contacting See4Parts on this forum. Pat seems to always being parting out cars and I've bought parts from him before. He may have what you need, so it's worth a try. He's treated me very fairly over the last couple of years and I'd recommend him to anyone needing parts.

Good luck.

here are the photos of the hardness[/QUOTE] sorry I haven't responded..... I really appreciate all the effort you did was sending the pictures of the harness. I've been working a lot of hours and I've been conflicted about whether to go with the fuel injection or to go carbureted.
another problem I'm having is I can't find a shop to do the work on my car so buying the harnesses worthless to me without a mechanic. I haven't given up yet but that has been a troublesome month. so again I appreciate the offer and if you still have the harness later on I'm might consider buying it. just have a few things to work out thanks so much.

am sure there are some shops near you that would do the work. Just ask here on the forum about some near where you are. I do jobs like this at my shop here in NC. Plus had to do it on my own vette when I got it. Of curse all my wiring was burned

if it's OK with you I'll still buy that wiring harness. I'm on the road right now but when I get home this weekend I'll pay for it. what you say it was $75? do you need my address too? I can pay you for Saturday if that's okay?
