Windshield weatherstripping replacement...

My 93 had the windshield replaced a few months back. It didnt seal very well where the driver and passenger side windows meet up with it.The guy said, Safelite, it may take time for it to seat in. I bought it, lol, and well after returning from overseas etc etc, it still doesnt seal...
So, Can I take the seal off and put a new one on. I think due to packaging it had preformed dents in it and wont allow it seal. pics to follow

If you look here , above tape, you can see how it doesn't seal well at all against on the windshield.

And a little different angle here, no tape, but you can see the shadow. It does whistle too. I am not going back to safelite.
