I just recently had my zf 6 rebuilt and my new motor makes about 450 hp. Well the first couple of days it wasnt that loud and now its getting to the point it sound like i have a supercharger can anyone help
I think you should have it looked by Zf idustries before you
do anymore damage to the trans. The parts are very expensive.
As far as the car not engaging in reverse/or having A hard time
engaging, that could be A reverse syncro. :mad :chevy
Ok heres how its acting shifts perfect and whines as it revs up, when in neutral not moving it has a squeking noise, but whne you push the clutch in it sounds normal.
With the clutch out in neutral, the input shaft and intermediate shaft spin and the output shaft sits idle. With the clutch in, the transmission parts do not move so it would (should) be silent. If you described the noise in each gear 1 thru 6, I could provide some better insight into what componentry is bad.
Sounds like a bearing, bearing surface or shaft problem. My advice is...quickly tear it out and send it back to get warranty service. Make sure it has the right lube in it so they don't void warranty on return.
P.S.: You installed the pilot bearing on reassembly....right???
