Default LT 1 AIR pump question

95 LT-1 AIR pump got crushed in an accident. I would like to do away with it. I figure just plug the tubes on the manifolds, but am not sure what to do with the one in the back of the engine. Is there any performance to be gained by removal?? Will it throw a trouble code ??
Thanks

If you're talking about the EGR, you can remove it, but you'll get a code all the time.

No, I'm talking about the electric pump that goes up front by the rad. It's got rubber hoses that run to both sides of the engine.

If you remove the air pump the computer will show a fault on a scan tool but won't set any codes. On the back of the intake you can remove the line and put a blockoff plate in it's place. If you leave the actual EGR valve intact and connected it will still work. The computer will send all the commands to the valve, and the valve will do what it is supposed to, but it won't matter since it will be blocked off.

Oh, that. I think it's only technically called an air-pump on the L98's. I think it's a vaccum pump on ours. same thing though .. ours is electrical though :).
