Default NO2 Timming Retard?

Hi All,
I've been told that its best to retard Your Timing when running NO2. Everyone seems to be on the MSD Digital 6 Kick. Is it really the best or is there better? or other options. I'm Running a 75 shot no retard. Plan to go up to 100 or 125 shot MAX.
Any help would be great.

Default Re: NO2 Timming Retard? (icemanto)

I run an MSD 6AL and a MSD timing retard controller box. It is basically the same as the Dig6 but it is not digital and I need two boxes to do the same job as the one. I do not plan on switching to a Dig6 anytime soon though.

2 degrees for every 50 shot is the rule of thumb. I know the late John Steward of Nitrous Express with his wet kit design suggested to not retard the timing at all. He felt that the additional heat from running less timing was detrimental to the nitrous and the motor. I still use the tried and true retard method though. If you are only running a 50-100 shot it is probably not all that big of deal not to retard the timing. I used to run the 100 shot on a motor without it.
