This could also be corrosion inside of the calipers, and the pistons aren't moving freely. A couple years ago I disassembled my Calipers and used a (Scotch bright) pad to clean the internal Caliper Bore's and pistons alike. Afterward I had a nice feeling peddle W/out any brake drag.

I like the "booster check idea" that's free and nearly effortless, the brake hoses are I believe to be considered maintenance so that's nearly a "to do" anyway, Cliff's suggested read is certainly interesting, I had a friend that whenever he had a customers car with a braking issue if it was an ABS car the first thing he did was "exercise" the system and lastly considering the disassembly of the calipers for inspection BUT it's certainly a potential situation though I think the least likely for your symptoms.

Your car you mention does the ABS check at "KEY ON/START UP" so ........
