Default 1996 antenna motor replace

having trouble removing Antenna wire from motor are does it come loose at the motor are where does the wire disconnect.

If I remember right the connection was under the left side of the back hatch trim tied a wire to it to pull it through I think most would just cut the wires

Both the electrical and antenna connections are under the large rear hatch trim panel. Access requires that both side trim pieces are removed first or at least loose in order to remove the large rear panel.

I removed the left tail lights so I could put my hand/arm into area to be able to pull the rubber grommet out and push the new one back in. Of course this requires license plate removal and removal of both left tail light housing as I could not reach the outer housing without removing the inner left housing.

Takes an hour or so to complete this task.
