I asked Autolite, on-line, what the gap should be for their AR134 cut-back racing plugs for our application (350 sb with trick cam, rollers and MSD ignition).
A Autolite representative called me (a real person on the phone) two days later and said that the plugs are factory gapped at .025 and should not be changed. He said the electrode is a heavy duty item and, therefore, should not be adjusted.
We had already adjusted the gaps to .045 to ready the car for the drag strip. Car did well at the strip. No plug related problems.

Is cutting the plugs something you can do on later model cars (eg. '96) are only 80 model cars?
