Maybe you should learn what a coolant TEMPERATURE sensor does, then learn what a coolant LEVEL sensor does.
Directing someone to a video about changing a TEMPERATURE sensor is just wasting that persons time. If I see someone bought the wrong part for their problem I'm not giving them instructions on how to change the wrong part. In fact you did say you think he has a bad TEMPERATURE sensor.
Go read your FSM and talk to your mechanic before giving bad advice.
Wow! Having to eat humble pie is not very tasteful. You are correct.
Meanwhile back to the problem. A low coolant light shows that there is air in the radiator where the cap is. If an air pocket forms in the radiator by the cap you have air there at the low coolant sensor. That sensor creates a ground in the water. Water low or air pocket will break ground. Check your seal on the radiator cap. A small tear crack etc will cause air to enter the radiator on recycle. No coolant loss, no overheat and light will come and go. I had a new cap on mine and felt that was not the problem until I found a small tear in the gasket. Two years now no low coolant light. That sensor is nothing but a port through the radiator to the coolant for ground. Start your vette and when the light is off pull the connector and the light will come on (you broke ground ). Then you know it is working. You may have to drive it up to five times for the air pocket to remove itself through recycle.
Took off my TB to clean it and now it seems I have to keep adding coolant. Seems like I have added more than it should even hold total. I gave replace cap, added coolant to radiator directly and to recovery tank. After it cools down Radiator is low and recovery tank empty. Can find no leaks. I think I must have air block but don't know how to fix it
Go back over your work, I think that you answered your own Question!
Keep in mind that if the leak occurs when the system is Pressurized and Hot, Coolant/water might escape in the form of steam, and not necessarily cause a puddle. I personally would have installed fresh hose's, unless of course they were fairly new to begin with..
