I pulled the codes on my vette tonight for the service ride control light. The only code that it returned was 32. The front right out of time. The actuator doesn't have a broken gear. Any ideas what could cause the light?
I tried to reset the light and I could not get the sequence down.
Does the shock rod turn freely for about 1/4 turn? Is the actuator positioned properly? Is the retaining cup attached properly?
That Code 32 usually points to a broken gear on the shock rod, but also check the plastic ring gear on the inside of the actuator to make sure it moves freely or is not broken. If you swap the front left and right actuators, is there a Code 31 set?
To clear the codes, you should not need to disconnect the battery. Use a paper clip or piece of wire to ground pin C of the ALDL for two seconds and then repeat two more times. That should clear the codes.
Now I have both Code 31 and 32. I checked to make sure the actuator's gear moves. It seems to work without issue. I did find a broken gear stop on the passenger side shock.
I hate to start throwing parts at the car unless absolutely necessary.
