Default 90 Dash Problems

HI,
The dash in my 90 is causing problems. Sometimes the numbers pulsate on the digital readout. Also, the controler on the A/C sometimes goes blank. I have a feeling that this is the start of something expensive !!

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Steve

I have always heard that the first thing to check are the various ground wire connections. Apparently they sometimes corrode, causing erratic readouts.

Check the ECM as well. WHen mine was in the process of dying, certain readouts on the cluster stopped working, or worked intermitantly.

Yeah, where did you get the rebuilt dash for $225. Has to be the rebuilt dash, I paid less than $100 for a rebuilt ECM from a local auto part store. Some forum member can even get a rebuilt ECM for less than $80 I think.

I got a factory rebuilt dash unit from a company named Technicar, located near Pittsburgh, PA. Real nice people to deal with, they know what they are doing......As far as pricing for an ECM, there are several on Ebay from reputable guys with a lot of positive feedback. Most are selling for $40-45.

Any questions on the dash unit, email me for details. mahpop@hotmail.com
