I really only wanted dyno numbers from the 92-96 vette's. I thought they changed the engine in 91, but the way this forum is set up it confused me by grouping the 84-96. Lets try this post. Just looking for advice, would I run a good chance against a pretty stock 92-96 vette at the strip with my cobra hitting 288.5 rwhp and 285.3 rwtq ( I have a 5 spd with a racing shifter and 3:27 gearing and I can drive my car pretty good) numbers? Thanks a lot guys.

Dyno#'s don't mean much, IMO. Way too many other factors like weight, driver skill, tires, etc. With your setup you would probably win some, lose some. The only way to really know is to actual race them.
Re: OK, I got confused...lets try this. (JC'S01COBRA)
They usually have 300/330 hp/tq at the crank, so drop 15-18% for parasitic losses. 1/4 in low 13's usually.
A 96 6speed will put down 300rwhp bone stock. 1/4 in very high 12s
You could beat a 92-96 but as always it comes down to driver skill. And i know the T5 is not the best tranny in the world either.

Actually it might be a fairly good race, those are pretty good numbers.
The LT1 cars were rated (in popular mags.) at mid 13s bone stock, whereas the F-body cars of that vintage were rated high 13s.
The hard job is to find a bone stock Vette that will race you. If you can't hear his exhaust note he's likely bone stock and won't race; otherwise lookout. The L98 and LT1 respond well to exhaust and a few other simple upgrades, as I'm sure your Cobra does.
Like 65Z01 said, good luck finding a stock LT1 at the track. Even still, it could be a close race. I was beat a couple times when I ran my stock '92 vert at the track against some of the modded Cobra's in the SVT club.
