Question about the 2 small clam shell hood lift supports for 88
I need to compress my new hood lift supports about ½ inch to install them.
How do I do it? My bench vise doesn’t go that far out and pushing the shaft in is hopeless.

Disconnect the long hood prop rod and have a friend lift the hoop up a bit higher until the small rod can be put into place. Then re-connect the prop rod.
