I have a bone stock (almost) 89 Corvette automatic that I have been the proud owner of for 11 years. The only mods I have made are a K&N air filter, 24lb FMS Injectors and adjustable fuel pressure regualtor.
Question is, can I mod this car to make it 12.99 second capable without forced induction or stroking it? Will it be streetable after the mods? Does anyone have a recipe I can use?
After driving my brother-in-law's 13.0 second LT1 6 speed, I am hooked on "more power" :D
You can build a 12sec L98 and retain the TPI input, though you may want to mod it a little.
You may want to upgrade your A4 with a 2,000rpm TC (stock is 1,500rpm) and a shift kit. This isn't the best for the strip but makes a very nice street/strip combo for street tires.
You've got mail with data on the mods needed to get you where you want to go and maybe a wee bit more.

and it's not running too rich like that?

took ya a while, but now you're hooked on the mods! mua ha ha haaaaaa
welcome aboard to the forum,
this is the right place to make your car faster!
nice to see another 89 owner
My car has headers, duals, a 2600 stall, free mods and 3.07's. It runs low 13's with drag radials. Intake mods would put it in the 12's. Its not too hard to build a 12 sec L98 and still retain streetability.
good to see another 89' owner on the board asking how he can make his car go faster! 12s should be no problem.. look at my simple mods and the times ive gotten with them. if i add a front ypipe, drag radials, and a siamesed base manifold and i should be seeing 12s easily. good luck
If I'd put Drags on my '85 I'm sure I'd hit high 12's. Only thing is I'm afraid to do so, as I might break my rear end..
I have these mods :
Perf resource Chip
SS 2.5" Targa Mufflers
High-speed Catalytic Converter
March Power Amp Pulleys
SLP Siamesed Runners
Siamesed/ported Plenum
Ported lower intake manifold
Adj. Fuel Press Regulator
Modified MAF sensor
175F Thermostat
Modified SLP Ram-Air system
