One of the most common causes of a lifter ticking is the oil hole in the lifter being clogged by dirt or debris. The holes in lifters are very small (1/64") and it doesn't take much dirt to clog them.....Run something like "Marvels Mystery Oil" or one of the other name brand cleaners through the engine as per instructions, this should break the dirt loose and get the motor back to normal....If it's not the oil hole being clogged, then it's time to start looking at mechanical issues........WW

I ran a wire through the rockers and pushrods . didn't feel any blockage. Engine only has 2500 mi since build. changed oil at 500 mi, and again at 2000 mi. really hate the idea of pulling it apart already.

If it's dirt in the lifter a wire won't do any good ,you can't get to it....Do like I suggested and run some cleaner through the engine..If it's dirt the cleaner may break it loose and flush it out..Since it's a new build the chances are very good that it's dirt....Who knows , maybe the $8.00 investment will stop the ticking.....WW

You may have bad lifters or a blockage, you may have to remove the inlet manifold and replace the lifters (put them in an oil bath first) before your roller rockers WEAR OUT. You can be surprised how quickly the pushrod can wear through the aluminum roller rockers without lubrication.........
You could try putting #7 cylinder at TDC loosing rocker arms and use engine/oil pump priming tool to see if it will start to oil prior to taking engine apart. Just a thought.
