Reducing NOX
Let's say I had a 1991 L-98 that did not have either system(theoretically speaking of course). The car bairly failed a NOX test , which one might bring it down to acceptable levels?
Here is good example:
25MPH 15MPH
HC(ppm) 33 32
CO 0.00% 0.00
CO2 13.3% 15.5%
O2 1.8% 1.5%
NOX 1084 ( need 848) 1173 (need 937)





Racing gas burns 'cooler' than regular pump gas. Some 100 or 104 octane unleaded may help.
What's the operating cycle? My shop manual isn't handy. I think the AIR system runs more than the EGR valve opens, but I don't know for sure.
