Digital Dash Back Light Dims When Going In Reverse

Hello. I have a 1985 Corvette with a standard transmission Doug Nash 4+3.

When I put the shifter into reverse, the back light on the digital dash dims for a second and returns to normal. When I pull the shifter out of reverse, nothing happens to the back light. This happens every time I put it into reverse. I just noticed this today.

Anyone know what could be going on?

I just checked them. Reverse lights all come on.

Do they flicker Or dim when they come on? Might have to wait till dark to see.

maybe a bad ground
