Default removing a/c compressor

I highly doubt i will ever fix this a/c on my 84 corvette, anytime i take it out the roof is off anyway. Plus now that i am putting a carb on it, fixing the a/c and making it work just isnt going to happen. So my question, is there a way to remove my a/c compressor and replace the serpentine belt with another kit that dose not require running the a/c compressor.
