I just received my kit and had a question about the check valves. The instructions say to "Be sure to leave the Check Valves". Since I am removing the cats and going to a true dual exhaust, is there really any need to leave the valves. I think not, but I'd like to know from some of you that have installed this kit. Thanks :seeya
Might have to leave them until you get those headers you want. If it is the check valves I think your talking about. You would have to cut the air tubes off and plug them with some thing. I have herd of some people putting screws in the holes. At least with the check valves on you can put the rubber caps over them or go to the parts store and get a pipe fittng to screw on the end
Well actually I was only talking about the check valve on the converter air tube. NOw that the tube is going to be gone with the converter, I don't guess there will be anything to hook it to anyway. Thinking about it now, that was a silly question for me to ask huh?
Hey Zad,
When I removed the air tube to the main cat,I reused the rubber hose connector and put a fact screw in it and clamped it down at the cat. in place of the old tube and it held on nicely.Didnt need to remove the main cat for that so it remains "legal" to some extent.
Just thought id pass this along in case you decide to leave the cat in place but need to plug the hole down there.
:)
