Default 84-87 spindles same as 88-96?

looking to do a big brake kit on my '96

there is a kit I'm looking at and for the 84-87 cars its all 4 corners
when you get to the 88-96 there are only kits for the front because of how the e-brake is integrated into the caliper rather than a drum style, which makes the mounting locations on the rear spindle different

does anybody know if the older spindle will mount up to the newer cars?

Thanks

No is the first answer that comes to mind BUT lets say not without substantial aggravation because the earlier spindles were used with substantial modifications to brackets for the "Big Doggie" kit.

You would be much better advised I believe to either consider a package that uses a smaller caliper for the E-brake function or perhaps the "StreetShop" package and add packages based on the use of that package. There's no inexpensive way to accomplish what you'd like to do.

Do you have 18" or larger wheels?

Do you actually have a need for the larger X 4 or just looking for the "BLING"?

18" wheels in all four corners

yea we actually need to go to a nicer, more surface area brake

we get a good amount of fade pretty soon in as well as we have actually boiled them before (with a high temp fluid) and thats not a good feeling when you're brake light comes on and the pedal goes to the floor

we are also getting a new front black skirt under the bumper and running vents through it

If you have no need for the E-brake the options are endless. Either of the other options I mentioned of course increase the $$$'s required.

I'd think that anything advertised for the early X 4 is likely older product anyway and would be much more difficult to service parts for. I wouldn't even consider most of those even tough they're from FAMOUS NAME vendors.
