O-ring for fuel filter on 85 C4???

I bought my 1985 Corvette in 1992 and have only changed the fuel filter once. This was many years ago. I do not remember O-rings being used for the fuel filter change, will consult my 1985 service manual later. My 1996 does not have a recommended mileage or time to change the fuel filter, bought it new over 18 years ago now and still using the original fuel filter. Fuel is getting to the LT4 injectors just fine. After getting the 1996 Corvette and seeing there was no gas filter changing, I did not worry about changing the 1985's fuel filter.
