Well yesterday I was stuck in stop and go traffic for about 40 minutes again and the digital temp reading got to 244 degrees. Then I noticed that the outside temp reading had gone to zero. I have a champion 3 row that I bought a couple years ago and i'm going to install that. I have tried everything else. I have two questions.
After I take out the old radiator do the mounts that I need to enlarge come out or do I have to do it in the car.
Second, what would suddenly cause the outside temp reading to go to zero.

It's a 94 convertible, stock.
244 is getting up there but is not overheating. More than likely you only need to remove it and clean it to get better cooling.
What do you mean outside temp was 0?

Underneath the digital MPH the outside temperature is displayed and it now reads o degrees f

The connector for the outside sensor is in the front right part of the nose and the sensor is under the front right bumper. Have you taken the top of the shrould off to get the crap out?

I have cleaned everything from the front of the radiator. I was going to take the top of the shroud off to clean and then decided if I was going to do that I might as well put the new three row aluminum radiator in at the same time.

True but either way you need to pull it before you fry it. They are big vacumme cleaners. To put back the three 7mm screws on either side I used a flat wrachet wrench with el tape to hold the screw. And pull the knock sensor to do a proper flush and to keep your opti from getting wet. Just pinch the connectors with your fingers to release I put new ones in could not bring myself to put back 20 year old parts. Good time to replace your front two o2's made a big differance on my 94.

your radiator probably looks like this and cannot be cleaned unless it's out.
There is no outside temp displayed in the location you list.
The only outside temp display is show on the climate control system above the radio.
The "Gauge" button will cycle the display though various readings, but outside temp isn't one of them.
Volts, Engine Coolant Temp, Oil Temp, and Transmission Fluid Temp for automatic transmissions.
had a chance to look at the display last night. When going through the gauges and getting the digital engine temp it displays "cool" and "0f" where the mileage should be . I assume the "0f" is for outside temp because it usually is approximately the same as the outside temperature. I think your talking about a different year corvette, not a 94.

NO!
I am talking about your 1994 LT1 Corvette.
Again, that is NOT the outside temp display.
You just described your engine coolant display. It lists "Cool °F" meaning the engine coolant is being displayed in degrees Fahrenheit.

I have a 94 that gauge reads off the sensor on your water pump
