Default Digital vs. Analog Temp Sensor

1996 LT-1, the analog gauge in the dash is functioning. When I press the display button for the digital display it shows: "Cool 0" regardless of temperature. Am I correct that the sensor for the digital gauge is in the thermostat housing? Best way for me to test the operation of the fans on this OBD2 system? Thanks for your input on this!

I think you are looking at "cool in Degrees" Look above the "O' for your temp reading...
