The upper Cruise Control Vacuum line goes under the Brake booster and attaches to something on the Firewall.
How do you get to the firewall end of the line?
That hose should be going thru the firewall and connecting to the brake pedal vacuum release valve. So when you step on the pedal, it releases the vacuum to the cruise servo and drops out the cruise as a backup safety feature to the electrical disengage.
If it is a manual car, the clutch also has a release valve for it where both lines are connected together.
The vacuum line that goes into the firewall attaches to the brake pedal cruse assembly inside the car. You will have to drop the driver side hush panel to see it.
Just did mine the hard way pulled the pad ,seat ,battery never again now just reach up under tthe dash and cut the hose. Then cut it going to the fire wall on a long angle about in half for a few inches stick a piece of bailing wire in it then ele tape it good. Lub up the hose and pull it through to the engine. Reverce to put back. Cut the hose flat and put a connector on it. Ten min job!

Before you go and tear anything up, what kind of problem are you having or what is it that you want to do?

Well I've owned the car since October and haven't driven it yet.
I've been fixing stuff trying to get it road worthy.
Beginning to wonder if it will ever see the road again.
It's not in horrible shape, but I'm not that maniacally savvy.
I've had 3 back surgeries and a neck surgery, titanium fusions in both areas. Can't work long or in awkward positions.
The line is deteriorated and kind of gooey, just cleaning up stuff as I find them when fixing the real problems.
Roy, you may want to have help replacing the entire hose. The connection at the brake pedal is very tight and hard to access. I examined my hose connection when I was replacing the carpet. The inside hose looked better than the cruse side. If you have room to cut the hose and get a clean section at the cruse, that is the best way to go.
Going to see if I can splice a new section in from the cabin out to the cruise
I barely remember doing it 10 years ago but that is how I did mine also. I used a male to male coupler and made the connection a few inches from the firewall (inside). Best I can remember is getting off the brake pedal release valve was a problem and just decided to splice it. (Don't ask for details, could have been stuck or viewing accessibility ).
Today the vacuum line for the cruise control was replaced.
There is a large rubber grommet in the fire wall that allows the line to pass thru the fire wall. The grommet is about 1 inch dia. & projects about 1" into the engine bay (see photo below). The replacement line was tampered at one end to allow the line to get partially thru the grommet. The line & grommet were well lubricated. Enough line (hose) was pushed into the engine bay that a long needle nose pliers was able to pull the rest of the line into the engine bay. The fit between the line & grommet is very tight so it would be best to lubricate the whole line. My line wasn't well lubricated & it ended up that the new line pulled the grommet out of the fire wall into the engine bay. With the line thru the grommet I was able to get the grommet back into the fire wall. Hoping that it will be watertight.
