Default Question about Hooker super com. headers

How hard is it to install an o2 senor to these headers or is it easier to reprogram the computer to bypass the o2 senor?

When I had my Hookers installed, they welded a new bung on the collector so it can get readings from all the cylinders. Other than that, https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=93&TopicID=2 should give you all the information you need.

So the the bung you had welded in was on the collector is that the same place the bung is located on the 2149 headers

No the O2 bung on the 2149 headers is on the #7 primary tube only; not a great indicator of the entire engine. I plugged mine and had an exhaust shop drill and weld a new one on the collector. Pretty painless- took 15 minutes.

thanks sounds like a pretty easy problem to fix. I'm just trying to learn as much as I can because I will be installing the headers myself

When you used the reducers did you use the y pipe that hooker makes or did you have one made, because I'm planning on having reducers welded to the y pipe and then have a pipe cut to replace the cat.

I already have the flowmaster cat-back that I just got 6 months ago so I don't want to go to a true dual set up yet.

that's what I did... "weld in a o2 bung into the collector" and used copper seals between the collector and the new 2.5".

Just a kindly reminder. You are supposed to only append your signature to your first post in each thread. Then subsequent posts just un-check the box so we don't have to load your signature picture all those times. Thanks.

where does it say this in the corvetteforum.com rules & regulations? Although it wasnt me this time, I sometimes do this.......

are you putting in an application to be a moderator?

It's just an unwritten forum rule. 1 signature per post.

Vic is correct. And don't jump all over me. I said it nicely. If you don't believe me then why don't you check with a moderator. There is also a large group of people that don't like it when people put pictures in their signature. That's one of the reasons for only appending your sig once in a thread. It takes too long for people with slow modems. And no, in answer to the question, I don't want to be a moderator. Too many people being snotty sometimes, ahem.

Actually the page will not take longer to load if the same picture is shown many times. It will only be loaded once from the web server and duplicated in the web browser. The page will load just as fast if the sig is used 10 times as if it was only used once. There will be more to scroll thru tho ...

And to the headers. I welded a new bung on the collector.
