How do I increase the idle speed on my automatic 1984 crossfire corvette?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Pick up a Haynes manual as the procedure might be tricky.
I believe there may be some sort of balancing opertion involved on a X-fire.

You shouldn't have to mess with the idle speed on a crossfire, Its controled by the ECM. Try setting the TPS and clean out the IAC...go here it will show you how to do it.

Why? My crossfire idles around 900 when I first start it up and then comes down to 600 when warmed up. I wouldn't want it to idle at 900 all the time.
I have an automatic also. At 900 I would have to really mash the brake to keep it from creeping forward when stopped. It idles smooth and the flowmasters sound great at 600. Just my opinion.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY..
REASON WHY..
I put on march pulleys....also installed a true stuff altenator 140AMP.
But still when the car warms up..and I put on the radio, or air conditioner,
and then apply brakes charge goes int red zon 11.4volts on dash..
that is why I thought if I increase the idle higher it would help...even when I hit the brakes the voltage drops...let alone trying to use the radio....
I have installed MSD coil....K&N FILTER....FLOWMASTERS....ETC.ETC..ETC...
what do you think
thanks

From: And on the fifth day, subpoenas were served to Obama senior staff
High amperage alternators "in general" do not pruduce as much current at idle as stock.
Loose the alternator and get your old stock rebuilt at a local shop.
