That box contains the 3 relays that control the opening and closing of the headlights. If you take the cover off you will find this:

The "weight reduction" I guess stops here and this is not to be included in that plan. LOL

What did you go to for shocks on the front? Skinnies look good.

Nah I'll remove the cover and mounting bracket behind it, the relays can lay/hang or be placed in a plastic sandwich bag and duct-taped/zip-tied to the same position roughly

I went with the cheap summit shocks JackDidley posted about.

The cover and bracket weighs maybe all of 6-8 ounces.

The wires get brittle over time and the black waterproofing sealant inside the plastic harness connector gets very hard. If there is too much movement, it's possible that a wire can become dislodged from the terminal end and you could have problems with the headlamp motors not working.

Few ounces here n there add up and if it's forward of the front wheels I take the extra effort. Car is a mild cruiser/drag and might see 1000+ miles a year.

If you really want to get radical with a weight reduction, remove the relays completely and open and close the headlights with the ***** on the motors.

Maybe the driver could go on a diet LOL. No eating during a race and always use the bathroom before final round LOL.
