Having some trouble replacing the fuel filter on my 85. I can get the end toward the front of the car loose but the end to the rearward of the car is stuck. The fuel line looks like it's gonna bend if I put enough force on it to break it free. Any ideas? Tried wd40 and I don't think heat is a great idea in the situation.
If you can get one side to unthread, then on the other side, the filter should spin off of the stuck line nut. Use plenty of lube, I like this stuff called CRC Freeze Off, find it at advance auto.
Standard wrenches will kill fuel lines...use two flare wrenches!
And hold the line side still and turn the filter.
Most have a hard time with the front of the filter.
I just break the line on the back then seperate the return line right there. Then buy the cheap release tool for the line on top by the engine. Then pull the lines out with the filter. If to much fuel is in the tank need to do something to keep the fuel from draining. By jacking up the car pinching or removeing fuel lines.

This is the way to go.
The first time I could not unloosen it either. When my starter was replaced it was easy to get to the filter with lots of room. Not saying drop the starter, but that is another method.
First off...forget WD40. That stands for Water Displacement and is not a good product to use on threads. Use something like PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench or the best home made is 50% automatic transmission fluid and 50% Acetone.

They work...just don't use MAC Tools Flare wrenches! My Snap-On combo wrenches bite and hold better than my MAC Tools Flare wrenches did...which is why the MAC set ended up in a garbage can.
