I was wondering if intake gaskets need to be replaced when swapping intakes. My current gaskets have 3000 miles on them and look like new to me. After all, they are only torqued on at 15 ft/lbs. Can the be reused or do I need new ones?
I wouldn't feel confident reusing that gasket. Maybe you could get away with it but I wouldn't do it. I have an L98 engine and it's a real pain to change those gaskets. Once those gaskets have been compressed, I would say toss'em.

Are you nutz? I will send you $20 for the intake gasket if needed. Don't try using them :smash:
FWIW, I used the same runner gaskets for about 5 R&R's of the runners and upper plenum. I never had any vacuum leaks. I may be cheap but I would rather spend 15 minutes pulling them again and replacing gaskets that were bad if I ended up with a leak then $20 on new gaskets every time...but I am in college so an hour of my time is not worth $50 an hour yet  If it was, then it might be a different story. -Matt-
