I am stranded on the road with dexcool everywhere. The heater hose from the throttle body ripped. actually there is a check valve right before it goes into the heater box and that cracked in half. I am thumbing it to advance auto but guessing I wont find the check valve. can I just plug up the hose at the point where it broke or plug the TB where it came from. I have about 10 miles to get home. anyone know what size ID that hose is or what size plug I need. Thanks guys
It is a plastic valve and they should have it. If not then I would get a small pipe that fits into the hose as a splice and two screw clamps. From memory, this should be a 5/8" hose.

thanks I hope a can find the pipe at advanced. without a check valve in it can anything bad happen if i drive 10 miles home
It is called the HEATER CONTROL VALVE. That is the plastic part your looking for.
Autozone carries it....part No. 5961
O'Reilly Auto parts - part No. 74795
Looks like where your at not to many options:
Looking on Line at Advance Auto Parts - they don't show the valve.
NAPA - Don't show valve.
You could try calling Ben's auto parts.....(860) 537-5522 - they show as open - but don't have online search.

Hose clamps are squeeze clamps. Need pliers or the like to get those off. If you go and replace the two hoses with one, you will need to remove the tank which is held with two bolts....use 7MM or 9/32 to remove the bolts.

Ex cuse me john.. But i think that is not the right part... He said he had broken the hose from throttle body to block....
The valve you show in pic is close to heather core
made it home. John, thanks for all the replies. It ran hot and when I got home and opened the hood, the coolant was boiling inside the reserve tank. why do you think it is boiling, what does the check valve do? I know it stops the coolant from going backwards but could I have caused any damage by driving it? I ended up using a brass hose connector to connect the 2 hoses together. I dont really understand how the system works and how my temporary fix caused it to boil. Thanks again
The valve is also a restrictor. It may be that you still had air in the system after dumping the coolant. Unless you were at a temp 250-260 for a period of time....your fine.
Order the valve and install. Then take your time an add the coolant and burp the system. Use the bleeder screw on the waterneck.
Glad you back safe. Been in similar situations myself. Not fun!
