ASR Service Light is ON !
While leaving our local shopping center the other day, I was turning right from the parking lot onto the main road when accelerating to speed I ran over some asphalt bumps which set off my "ASR", I backed off the speed and then waiting a second or two so it could clear itself. Then I accelerated to traffic speed. I then noticed that my "ASR" Service light came on and stayed on.
Not being able to get home, I drove on to the freeway , then noticed that my "Security" light would start flashing intermittenly, then I noticed on my digital speedometer that "SYS" would flash also intermittenly.
My question is: can I disconnect the battery to reset the "ASR Service Light" or do I have to bring this in to a service center or dealer to look at or fix? What is involved in Servicing the ASR System? Why did the Security Light start flashing, and why did " SYS" flash on my digital speedometer ?
Has anyone had this same kind of problem and if so how did you solve it ??
Is it expensive to fix, or can re-set the ASR Service Light myself? My Corvette is a 1993 with 82,000 trouble free miles on her.
Any advice regarding this " ASR Service Light " Problem would be greatly appreciated.
