I read nothing about a 800 $ fee for tuning , and was told it will fit .

It comes with a preloaded tune for stock gm v8 vehicles but Haltech suggests a dyno tune for a proper tune. Once the initial tune is complete then it is adjustable to your request. I am starting to think that I will wait until I add forced induction to add the Haltech system.
