IF you could verify that, it is the same. Only way I have gotten same significantly cheaper is when the seller has a "don't ask, don't tell policy concerning how he got it. No box, no receipt, no warranty, no exchange and cash only. Beyond that, when people say "same", the best they can do is quote what the box says. Safelite swore it was the same everything for my glass. Rain sensor disagreed and worked only when the OE glass was installed. Coincidence? They tried to save a few bucks and ended up spending more on the diagnosis and they had to take the "same" unit out and put OE in to make it work. Kinda why I am highly skeptical of people when they say "same". In fact, it makes me think "cheap knockoff unless proven otherwise".

Just looked at my MSD. It has been there since 05. On my 91 Firebird, it was Accel and it was there till it go wrecked in 05 and the motor was transplanted into the Vette. Because I slipped the wrench I broke the tower and had to replace it otherwise, I'd have reused it. I'd say either brand is decent. Maybe Mallory but I haven't used it.

Ah, a clearance special. That can explain things. Otherwise when they are that cheap, I get highly suspicious. Most of my "too good to be true" purchases have bitten me in the butt later on.

This is my 10$ coil.. Standard motor product from rockauto
I have used hundreds of electrical components from STANDARD. They are a quality product.

No one knows. That is why there is thread after thread after thread on these forums about:
"My ____________ brand opti lasted 10 minutes!"
...and you can literally fill in the blank w/ANY brand.

Like wise, there is thread after thread after thread on these forums about:
""I used ___________ brand Opti and it's been trouble free for __________ years/thousand miles."
....and literally, the same brands work in either quote!

It's a crap shoot. To date, there is still no consensus as to what brand REALLY works. None of them do. They all do.

You right... Is a luck question, in some ways

Mine 1995 vette a duracell battery, died after one year...

I've a dodge nitro too... OEM battery left me last year after 7 years of good service...

Absolutely. If I ask about you, someone out there thinks you are a crook, fine. But If there are too many, I might get worried. Same with parts. Ine bad experience is not an issue. If i keep hearing it, I will get nervous.
