on mine you don't push the button to lock the doors just to turn it on and off turn it on by holding down the button till the locks cycle then walk away it will lock when you go back it will unlock. battery upside down?

It was working fine, doors locked horn honked, went into store and came out pressed door button to open passenger door, nothing. Went home, walked away nothing, doors did not lock. Put new battery in fob, nothing, the passive key light is on when you turn the key on. Tried what the manual says, nothing, changed the fuse, nothing.

You say you tried what the manual says, but don't tell us what that is. It says lots of things. If it won't open the pass. door it probably hasn't been turned off, but just in case try turning it "on". Stand next to door, hold down the door button until you hear a clank-clank. See if it works now. If that doesn't help try reprogramming and tell us what happens at every step.

What does "Stuck in pressed remote door locks, nothing." mean?

Coupe or Vert?

Manual says stick key in press door button in until door locks cycle, that is what I did, nothing happens. Did what you said, stand by and push door button, nothing. It seems like the remote is not working at all and I also tried my second remote and nothing. I guess I will take it to the dealer.

What light (PKE) is on and for how long. Does it stay on with key turn to ON?

Holding the button down with the key in changes from passively unlock pass. door to don't passively unlock pass. door. Nothing else. When you did what I asked, what exactly happened? Did you hold the button for a few seconds and quit? A few minutes and quit? Did you ever hear a clackclack? Is it a coupe or vert? If a coupe does the hatch open with the fob? You typed you checked the fuse, I hope you mean fuses. There are three to check, 26, 40 and 42. Is the fob battery upside down? Is it seated properly? Did you check the voltage (I think it has to be at least 13.1 to work right). Are there any cracks on the fob pin connections? As I already asked, do the programming procedure to make the car recognize the fob, and tell us exactly what happened at each step.

I suspect your PKE module has gone bad, but you haven't given us enough information to know. I don't understand why people ask for help and then refuse to answer questions.

Sorry about that, I tried what said and nothing. It is a coupe. The hatch does not open with the fob. I checked everything with fob, I bought the exact same battery. I did not chec fuses 40 and 42. Sorry that I am not as sharp as some of you, I am 73 years old and built any race cars since 2008.

Those fuses are for things that are working fine.

I have no doubt you know more about engines and cars in general than I do.

I suspect that your PKE module in the car has gone bad (because your second fob isn't working either), but to be sure, please try this procedure (this is for a 95, other years might be slightly different and are in your owners manual) and tell us what happens after steps 5 and 6:

1. Move all transmitters out of range.
2. Turn the ignition key on.
3. push TRIP OD0 on the Driver Information Center
twice.
4. Within five seconds, press and hold FUEL INFO
until the PASSIVE KEYLESS ENTRY light comes
on.
5. Turn the ignition off,b ut leave the key in the
ignition. The PASSIVE KEYLESS ENTRY light
should begin to flash to show the system is in
programming mode.
6. Bring one transmitter into range. The light will stop
flashing and stay on to show that the code is stored.
7. Move the transmitter out of range. The light should
8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 with each additional transmitter.
The programming mode will shut off if
You don’t program any transmitters for two minutes.
You take the key out of the ignition or turn the
start flashing again.
ignition on.

Did the light come on steady after you did step 4?

When you first turn the key and the PKE light comes on, does it stay on. It should go off in 2 seconds. If it stays on, sounds like the PKE receiver is bad.

Last night when I came home, the PKE light stayed on when I turned the key off. It stayed on all night, this am, I started the car and turned it off, the light went off then. Today I am going to have an aftermarket alarm installed, any problems doing this?

I have never tried it, the threads are full of people who have had lots of problems doing this, also lots of threads with people who did it with no problems. Might depend on how good your installers are.
