What is the purpose of the pulsator? I have a new pump on the way 255lph and was curious if this is a replaceable item and will it work with the extra flow from a 255lph pump?
I would compare it to a water hammer arrestor. Suppose to help with noise associated with the the fuel lines.
Mine has been long gone and don't notice any difference.

just need a high dollar piece of fuel line that can take being in fuel.
Cool! What type of hose is this? I take it high psi fuel injection hose won't work? Thanks for the help guys.
P.S. I guess I should have asked does it hurt anything to leave it on i.e. Can go bad and cause issues or a high flow pump won't seal correctly to it?
I believe Gates 27083 is generally accepted to be "submersible" installation approved and I believe 5/16 is the correct sizing. You might want to confirm the diameter of the fuel tree tube on yours. 27083 might be a 10ft piece according to a current Gates .pdf so you might want to carry all of the various part #'s to the parts house with you. Use the Brochure that's in the Oreilly link.

That link goes to a listing for 10 METERS (32.8 feet) of hose at $22.99 PER FOOT, for a grand total of $754. You need about 2 INCHES, so I suggest this part number instead (for 1 foot = 12 inches):

I have heard of pulsators blowing out, so that is a possibility. I have the above hose on my car...
In my post I mentioned the link contained in the Oreilly link that was the Gates "brochure" with multiple part numbers and left the shopping for the OP. There's no telling what part # a local AP might actually stock it under. The GATES brochure link wouldn't "stick" by itself. A local AP jobber stocked the 27083 10 METER but sold 6" lengths when asked. There's also a 10ft 27080 in the Gates brochure.
It hasn't come in yet but I will wait and see. If there is a hose in the kit I take it that is it's intended location then?
Thanks to all for your help.
I don't know that you could rely upon the "included hose" as being "long term submersible". It's highly unlikely that the short length included would have the spec inked on it so ....
There are specialty resellers that sell shorter lengths. I believe I saw a Volvo reseller that did 3" lengths
If you found it local it should have 30R10 spec inked on it and unless it mentioned "submersible" I'd maybe be brand conscious.

the hose and clamps are intended for attaching the pump to the metal line above it.
If you have a pulsator you can replace it with the hose.
wvzr1 has questioned whether it will be the correct grade, it should have printing on the side of the hose with its rating, if you are buying a reputable brand (ie walbro) then you should have the right bit of hose in the pack. If there is no rating printed on the hose be suspicious !
My replacement racetronix-walbro pump had the submersible hose with clamps in the pack. I seem to remember it having "submersible" labeled on the side. I cannot remember but I did ditch the old Pulsator with the supplied hose and has been fine since March.
