Hi All,
Been having a lil trouble with the Service ASR and Service ABS brakes lights comming on in the Information window. They both come on after about 30min or so of HW driving. Very annoying so I took it to the dealer. He said the prob was the accelerometer (part that makes the radio vol go up and down automatically - $200.00 part) but honestly I dont think that is the prob cause the radio auto vol works fine. Here's my thought. At one time I tried to install a aftermarket Sony radio in light of the Bose. Didnt like the sound, and not to mention didnt fit right anyway. So I went back to the Bose. Since I unplugged the bose, been having this prob with the lights. This leads me to my question. Could the computer think the bose is not there???? and is there a way to do it with a paper clip? or do I need a special tool to do it? Any help would be appreciated. thx!
You can disconnect the battery for 30 seconds to clear out the ecm memory. The radio uses the vehicle speed sensor for the volume. I am not sure how the ABS works. I haven't had to work on that yet. Lights means the ecm that handles the ABS unit or ASR unit (depending on which light is lit) has detected a problem and that part should be checked out. It may only be a connection problem.
