HP and ET

Good morning brothers and sisters:

Have a 96 collectors edition. LT1/auto trans.

ET in the 1/8 mile varies with temperature, runs from 8.96 to 9.08.
Need to have the top number 8.99 or less. Do you know if a 20%
HP gain or a 5% HP gain give me these numbers????

You need about 8 more hp to run a 8.99 or better if you ran 9.08 before in poor weather.
