If you have multiple leaks a plugged up PCV system may be your problem. My 80 cj7 had so many leaks that I just could not figure it out. I did eventually find the problem, it was a plugged up oil filler cap which was used for venting.

a cheap, easy test; remove oil filer cap from valve cover, lay a piece of paper across the opening in the valve cover; it should want to be sucked inward; if it tends to want to blow off, there's either e plugged pvc system or excessive blow by.

I like to use GM Engine Sealant 10-2006. It is the best stuff I have ever used.

The china wall on these motors is very thin. When you install the lower intake use The Right Stuff for Sealing. The intake has room to move forward and back with the bolts set in place. You must be sure to push the intake backwards on the block. This gives you just enough extra surface to make a better seal.It makes a big difference.

The job is done and running great now! I've never had it at this smooth of an idle! Only took us about 7 hours with a 1 hour lunch and a 30 minute parts run.

I was iffy about using the same rocker nuts so I had to go buy a new set of 16 rockers because they didn't have nuts. Oh well. Someone was in this engine before me though. Comp cam 1.5 and 1.6 rockers, new springs and lockers, AFPR.

The only issue I ran into was I lost a bolt for the EGR crossover from intake to exhaust so I'll have to find something to replace it but other than that it went golden
