Default New Injectors

Now I know what you're going to say, this subject has been beaten to death for plenty of years and I HAVE done the research only to come up being frankly a bit more confused then when I went in.

What I'm looking for is to replace my original injectors (107k miles) I'm not looking for a major upgrade or anything like that. The L98 is stock in my 1987. I've been looking for NEW 22lber injectors but come up empty handed on reviews or just cant find them. 19s and 24s are so popular. I found a post from 2004 talking about 'Bosch 0280150561 D9B-22lb Injectors' and they are having fantastic reviews! But they are rebuilt, and have no warranty from EBAY. I did find someone selling these 'pink top' injectors for around 120 shipped. That feels extremely cheap to me.

I was also looking at a nice Accell set of 24lbers from Summit, going for 273 for a set. The money isn't the problem to me, it's the lbs. I do have an AFPR and will adjust if needed but will not tune my prom. I'd like it relatively stock which is why I'm searching for 22lbers so I can plug them in and go.

Has anybody had any luck with purchasing new or used injectors? Vendors? eBay? Summit? Five-o motor sports? I'm open to suggestions! From my searches I found the Bosch 3 series to be the most recommended, but I'd like to hear what you guys have to say

Check out Jon at FIC. He will set you up right. I went with the Bosch injectors as well as the FPR. Car never ran better and the injectors solved my leakdown issues. Good Luck

I checked out the website, I'm already quite satisfied with the selections! You purchased the Bosch 3 exact fit and had good results? They are 22lbers according to the website. It's well worth the extra 50 bucks to know they will be the right injectors

They're right about FIC, BTW. I bought mine there as well.

Mine is an 85, even so, the pressure is different for my year, so the flow on 24's works out the the same as stock with the Bosch 3.

Give John a call and tell him what you want. I'm sure he can accommodate you.

PS: I have HEARD but do not know for a fact, that quality is low on Accel injectors.

PSS: I got the rebuilts, but John also has new injectors available for a good price.

Yes I also got the Bosch 3's and am very happy. The best part is that Jon will talk to you anytime and answer all of your questions. I called early and he shipped the same day. Took maybe 2 days. Very satisfied. I also purchased a fuel pump at a later date and am very happy.

Good Luck,

Kevin

I have heard that Accel's injectors come from Ford Motorsports.

I bought flowmatched Racetronix injectors last time (just to mention another possibility :-))

I replaced the stock ones in my 89 with Accel 22 pounders and lost considerable power. Go with the Bosch !!!

Thank you guys for the responses! I'm very much interested in the Bosch 3 series at FIC. I'm going to call on Monday morning to see what kind of deal can be had.

He has videos comparing various injectors at different pressures. It's pretty cool! Check them out!

You can see the bosh atomize well across the range and don't cut out at higher pressures. (Which was neat to watch, but it probably doesn't matter as his pressure tests go insanely high.)

I did the Bosch III's from FIC also for my 1985. It was like getting a brand new engine.

I got in contact with Jon this morning. He recommended the Delphi stainless steel injectors because of the plug and play application. He said they're just like OE injectors, which is great, but Multech injectors are garbage to begin with. He said if you want to go with NEW injectors to go with the Delphi 22lb injectors. Has anyone purchased these with good results? I'm still interested in the NEW Bosch 3 injectors because of the excellent reviews you guys gave me. We're there any installation issues with the Bosch series? Height difference?

The Bosch were plug and play. Correct height and work great.

Excellent! After reviewing what everyone said here I'm noticing you guys are installing them in 1985 Corvettes which had slightly different fuel settings. Think these would still be good for a 1987? The only 87 I see is Bugly87 and seemed to have excellent results, just curious at this point👍

The Bosch are a little different. I think he adds an O-ring to them (Holds them up a little) and you do not use the top retainer clips. They are held in place by the rail.

But they work great and are essentially "plug and play" You plug them into the rail, bolt the rail down and put the connectors on.

Instillation is just like the any other injector.

He offered me a really good price on new Bosch III also. Or he has rebuilt.

Delphi is legit. They make most of the parts for GM. I have 50 lbs in my current 383- Last data log I was hitting 68 - 70+ duty cycle.
