Supplying parts to GM doesn't say much when GM stood for Government Motors. LOL. As in you got yourself so fawked that you had to beg for money from Obama and agree to even replacement of your CEO with a government approved one.

Seriously, Delphi isn't too bad but why buy new when you can use a reman set that is tested and they can mix and match to get it as close as possible?

I just ordered a new set of the Bosch 3 22lber injectors, plus the intake kit and orings for a decent price. Since I'm doing my intake this weekend it should be no problem installing these. He did say he sells more of the Delphi set and he said they use the old style coils and single nozzle, which I'm sure works just fine but I wanted to try something different and since you guys have such great reviews on the Bosch 3 set, I don't think I can be disappointed.

The only thing that concerned me was the fact that the clips aren't used anymore. Then again I'm sure there is enough tension between intake and injector rail to have them sit and not wiggle around too much. The injectors just looked a bit longer in the pictures.

They should be here by Thursday, I'm so excited

I don't know about a stock system but my HSR setup does NOT have clips because they weren't needed and like a moron, I put it somewhere but forgot where.

The injectors showed today! Very satisfied with the shipping!

The injectors look nice but what stood out to me was each and every injector had the part number scratched out. What's the reasoning behind this?

Also, the injectors came with a plastic clear cap on the fuel rail side, which was to prevent damage from shipping, and another clear plastic ring on the intake side that sits in front of the first o-ring. I assume this was for shipping as well but I was really pushing and pulling on this thing and it was not budging, is this part of the L98 "fabrication" that FIC talks about or is it just the double o-ring? I'm trying not to be too forceful with this plastic ring in case IT IS for the custom fit. Does anyone know what I'm referring to? Nothing was said about removal of the plastic pieces. I can send pictures via email.

Stupid question, I know, just wanting to be safer than sorry..-er.

Post a picture but I think the double ring is holding on tight to the cap

He said to leave it on. It's to hold the o-ring in place, it's called a pintle cap. Now I did see other models of Bosch with a black ring/cap but was just confused by this clear one. Just seemed odd. Maybe it's a Bosch thing? I can spin the plastic in place but just can't pull it up. Makes ya wonder what would happen if that ring fell off

Fell off where? It is larger than the hole at the end of the injector bore

Just weird to me. I've purchased injectors before and they did not have this ring. To me it looks like the ring sits on the intake instead of the o-ring which is concerning. I'll look at it during install before I go any further. Did anyone see this when they purchased Bosch 22lbers from FIC?

I won't worry about it if it were me. One ring goes into the bore and seals it

I won't worry myself, just curious as to the purpose of the ring. I know it's to hold the o-ring but if it's the same size as the oring, and sits in front of it, to me that sounds like mounting will be off and will sit on the cap, not the oring. I'm probably wrong with that statement, but on paper and in my head it sounds like it's not supposed to be on there but I've seen other Bosch injectors installed with a black cap/pintle cap.

I have seen other pintle caps, not of that design and used them. On older Bosch injectors. This might be a newer design.

It will work fine. If you're are thinking of changing the plug wires now is time. With everything off the top of the engine it's so easy.

They are already new. Replaced the first time I did my intake, they're not even a year old yet. ACDelco 7mms. New plugs too.

FYI, I just yanked the injectors on my MB. Guess what? They are Bosch injectors and also have the pintle cap you are fretting about so life is good.

This is excellent information driven by actual experience with injectors. This is why I like THE Corvette Forum. Very helpful.

The installation was a success! The Bosch 3 injectors I ordered from FIC worked great. I called Jon mid install just to double-triple-quadruple check the injectors needed to go intake side first, obviously I was correct. He picked up right away and helped answered my questions with no problems.

The car idles much much better, though I do feel a drop in power I think I need to advance the timing a little more. It's really boggy around 6 degrees but really happy around 9 or 10.
