Shocks
I just finished replacing the shocks on my 96. The old ones were Bilstiens. The stick er on them sais VX.
Questions:
1. Is this the original shock that came on that car. I know they may have been replaced since new, but is that the proper shock.
2. It appears to be rebuildable. Is it, how much, and where?
Surprises:
1. The Gabriel Prorider for the rear came with no nuts for the top. A metric nut makes a fine lock nut on standard threads.
2. I had to lift the rear supension to install the bottom of the shock. In essence the rear suspension is supported by the shocks when in the air.

Re: Shocks (his touch)
those shocks are rebuildable... contact bilstien... they can also rebuild the shock to your desire...
I would expect them to be the originals... just based on age.
