Where is an easy ignition on source for 12v and ground in my 96 engine bay? I'm thinking of wiring my fogs for drl.
There's a very inexpensive module for DRL functionality. Requires NO hacks, just a very straight forward install. It only uses the "high filament" of the park/turn NOT the FOG and I wouldn't think you would want to use the FOGs "full on" anyway. I'd rethink the use of the FOGS.
A fellow local here in NOVA/MD did a car and there's been others in years earlier. This link will take you to a very capable/proven product. DRL is in left column and there's a C4 kit mentioned.
Thanks. I am up on the Webelectric kit for the turns. That doesn't appeal to me. i would run the fogs 100% with LEDs. Thety do nothing to illuminate unless you go HID. I was also considering an add on inside the lens. 90% of cars have them and it's a good idea since folks look for them now.

If those don't interest you then your only solution is I'd think a solution similar to what you've requested BUT I believe I'd power them via a relay that is "triggered" by the "RUN" position that you choose. That is how nearly almost/if not all later DRL are powered. To power them the fuse block behind the battery is a maybe and the relay from any circuit that is powered by the "pink" wire from the ignition switch, that's "RUN" function. There's likely two fusible links at the fuse block behind the battery for the alternator so that could be a very likely source for the 12V.
