Have a 96 collectors edition, LT1/auto trans. How do you disable the VATS system. tks Pr. Putz

Are you only interested in the "key resistance" by-pass? Why the by-pass?

I'd maybe consider planning then on constructing a "resistance" bypass and just carry it with you. If stranded gaining access to the harness/connector isn't that difficult. To "just do it" I believe might be considered foolish.

All you need to do is collect the correct connector, the appropriate resistor, solder and it's done. The visor vanity light on most I believe uses the same mating connector required, buy the connector new/used, local/JY, a short read on construction and assemble.

If you were buying some other products and could combine a purchase of the already assembled product maybe that's an alternative. I've never priced an already assembled product.
