Default D44 batwing weight?: Engineering curiosity

Anybody know the weight of the D44 batwing? Just trying to compare it to the D36 and earlier C3 batwing (I have the weights on them).
I'm in the middle of an odd project, and am just curious about the D44 part.

Thanks for any help/info.

14.8# with some grime/dirt vs 13.2# clean.

I appreciate the information. I got a PM yesterday from another member who gave me the weight of his D44 batwing, temporarily minus the outer bushings. I weighed some spare bushings I have, added that to his reported weight, and yours and his numbers come out pretty darn similar. It's reassuring when independent data sources match.

My D36 batwing is 11.2 pounds. There's less weight difference between the two C4 batwings than I had previously assumed. In my project my main reason for using a D36 batwing was cost (I had a spare just sitting on the shelf), and D44 batwings are rather pricey to buy.

I'm trying to swap out the C3 D44 batwing in my '69 for a lighter C4 batwing. The C3 batwing pulls about 15# off the car compared to all the steel and cast iron in the stock differential mounting, but the D36 batwing should allow me to pull another 6-7 pounds off the car. Here's the (unfinished) adapter ring I hogged out for ring gear clearance. I also had to drill the D36 batwing to match the C3 differential cover bolt pattern.

Here it is bolted to a spare/old differential housing.

Once I'm done with all the batwing modifications I'm 99% sure I'll have to cut off the batwing mount tabs currently on the frame and fabricate some new ones in a slightly different location.

Thanks again for the help, guys.
