I moved my engine accessories to the passenger side of my car. Unfortunately my strategy didn't work out perfectly. My power steering slips the belt. I would like to ask if someone could measure how much belt contact there is on your pulley from where the belt starts to touch the pulley to where it leaves the pulley. This way I have a base line or a goal rather. TIA
I just went out in my cold azz garage and measured where the belt makes contact with the pulley...The distance is right at ( 7") which is less then halfway around the pulley...It's also the rear of the belt that rides on the pulley not the grooved side .My car is an 89 ......WW

Thank you. I appreciate your sacrifices. On my factory belt position sticker, it only appears to be about 30% wrap. That is a guess from memory. I guess I need closer to 7".
I envisioned something like that. Pretty slick. I'll have to broaden my search and see what sizes are out there. I was thinking about hitting my local wrecking yard for ideas also. It was actually a little harder to get everything to fit than I thought. Plus it is difficult to hold things and measure and consider the tensioner movement. If I have to pull it all out again I'll tweek things just a bit. The belt coming off of the PS pulley is pretty close to the belt coming off the idler. The water pump is right in there as well. Thanks for the pic.

does the p/s pulley have grooves ? looks like you are running the smooth side of the belt on a grooved pulley. I may be looking at the picture wrong. i do see groove marks on the flat side of the belt though.
You are looking at it right, but those grooves are just that, grooves. They are not deep enough nor are they intended for the "ribs" of the belt. That is my factory pulley and as you can see from the belt diagram on the shroud, the PS pump is driven in a reverse direction and by the back of the belt. I hope that is right. LOL, This project has gone a little longer than expected and my memory isn't great.
I can't tell for sure, but it looks like your configuration is causing the power steering pump to run backward. I don't even know if that matters or not but if it is backward and it can't work in that direction under load, maybe that's contributing to the belt issue????

Look again, the belt is turning the pully counterclockwise, the same as it was before the conversion...WW
