I had to use two sets of Felpro to seal right.

I actually only had to do it on the passenger side. Yes, two gaskets for the passenger side header.

If you can get to all the bolts to really tighten them down, go with copper gaskets. They won't burn or blow out.

I agree. They will most likely leak a bit for the first 100 miles, but after they heat up and seal- they're hard to beat.

earls makes a really neat dead soft aluminum gasket, part number ear-29d03b is a 1.5" round port which fits our D-port head pretty well & also the stock manifold or aftermarket header. they also have graphite around the port. kind of like a LS1 head gasket. perceys also makes a plain dead soft aluminum gasket, i think these are a tad thicker but they don't have the graphite or rings around the ports, there part number is php-66011 for the same 1.5" round port, pt #'s are from summit racing. either one of these blow the standard paper or composite gaskets so far out of the water it's not even funny.

Having owned a number of hot rods, let me save you a ton of trouble. Get some FelPro gaskets, and make sure you go buy a set of header bolts called "Stage 8 Locking Header Bolts". They're about $40, stainless steel, and have a special "D"-shaped washer and C-clip that absolutely prevent the bolts from ever backing out, thus no blown header gaskets. They can be a little bit of a hassle to install, but once they're in, you never have to fool with them again. Check out: http://www.stage8.com/stage_8_1024NET.htm
