Default Stuck on headlight issue *video*

I can turn the **** by hand and move the headlight up and down, and when I first start the headlight it will move on its own then stop as the motor keeps going. Nothing is binding at that point as I can flop the headlight back and forth by hand and nothing catches or binds up. Gear on the motor looks good as it was just rebuilt. What am I missing?

Did you just replace the gear and bushing?

I purchased a rebuild one because the module went out and fried the motor on my last one. I have not fully disassembled this one to see if the bushing was still good, that's my next step. I remember a lot of gear grinding last time the bushings went out.

Gear is good and so are the bushings, still stuck in this one. How much wiggle should this arm have?

is that roll pin sheared off? you can get sets of bushings to rebuild the linkage to get the slop out.

Play was at the top and bottom, black pin in the middle looks fine. Where can one find a rebuild kit? Only seeing the motor ones.

If you need better pics just LmK.

ebay $27.99 run a wire in the roll pin and cycle it to be sure.

a video of the play might help.

Problem solved. So the issue was the metal part that goes inside the nylon gear was broke. The shaft that comes out of that and connects to the arm would just spin inside of the housing. No grinding noise because the motor and nylon gear were doing what they were supposed to. Yes the bushings on the movement need to be replaced, but that's another job for another day.
